Napi zene 46. – stro-B

Update: my dear visitors from Iceland! Welcome on my blog, scroll down here for english version of this post!

A zenéjüket a Radio Bongo gondozza, ami President Bongo (a GusGus alapító tagja) projektje.

Érdemes a szövegre is figyelni, tetszik a magyar fül számára elsőre fordított logikának tűnő „Ain’t got nobody, to call me baby any more” megfogalmazás.

This would be the first bilingual post on this blog, this is a real milestone!

You might already knew that i’m one of the greatest fans of GusGus in Hungary. This statement could be true unless i missed both their two gigs in Hungary because of different excuses. The live acts and the workflow of the band impress me so much – also their music. But tomorrow i’m not going to advice you a track from GusGus, but a track that was promoted by them.

Yesterday my favourite band from Iceland, GusGus posted a masterpiece on their Facebook page. I searched but could not find so much information about the band called Sísý Ey but thanks to their Facebook page I got some basic information.

They are also from Iceland, the band was founded in 2011 and they play house music. Like GusGus, they also focus on live acts, which I found very interesting.

They’ve made a videoclip starring with the singer of GusGus. Their music is promoted by Radio Bongo, which is the „label” of  President Bongo (one of the GusGus founders). You could buy the song over Bandcamp.

About the music: calm, clean, nothing serious, almost like it was made by an engineer. Everything is in its place, the LFO-s, the filters work just as much as needed. You should focus on the lyrics: for a hungarian it might look like a reverse logic „Ain’t got nobody, to call me baby any more”.

I think my worship for scandinavians just got a new chapter, as my list of adored icelandic bands broadens with this band.

It seems, that icelandic electronic music would be my Achilles’ heel.
